sunday - after a wonderful sleep and great breakfast, max and i scurried down the winding road to the bridal shop in town where lina was waiting for us to pick up the GORGEOUS bridal gown we would be using monday for our bridal session.. i LOVE lina..she was so very sweet. her bridal shop is beautiful and has some of the most AMAZING dresses i have ever seen in there..as in seriously. ( i will be posting a entire post dedicated to lina’s shop in the coming days).

back up the hill we went to get the group and off we went back down the winding road down the mountain again… :)  about 3/4 of the way down we pulled into a parking area. and right across from us: the aquaduct and the castle..we were all around this area for about 2 hours..

we walked around the base of the castle and went into the city of spoleto to eat..walk around..take many photos..you know, the things one does when in italy on a phototour.. :) 20101030_IT-4904.jpg

after we had spent a few hours in the city we went back to the castle and went thru it and around it, and discovered some amazing frescos in it as well.. :)

it is the harvesting of olives right now in umbria, so there is a sort of “festival” for the first harvesting of the olive trees. we found a wonderful man who owns an olive mill and graciously walked us through and explained the process to us..it was awesome! this particular olive mill has been in the family since the 1700s. i cannot tell you how i LOVE the new olive oil.. 20101030_IT-5264.jpg

 the current owner is in the photo on the left, at the far right..he was 23 yrs old there.. that was in the 60s. :)

his grandson was in the main building preparing wonderful bruscheta for us all, while Nonna oversaw everything..

it was such an awesome experience!

we ended the full day back in the main part of the city of spoleto at a restaurant and ate and drank and ate… la dolce vita. :)
