3-in-1...and not the coffee! || manila destination wedding photographer

3-in1. instant coffee phenomena here in the philippines, and probably most of SE Asia. i dont mind it at all. especially when you’re in a hurry and NEED your coffee fix. there are sooo many brands and types. my fave right now is NESCAFE brown & creamy. :)

lover, on the other hand is a coffee snob and wont drink it. whatevs. he’s missing out.

but this blog post is not about that.

this blog post is wrapping up the last 3 days into 1, as i’ve been very bad at not blogging this week.

i’ll tell you why…

sunday night a team of volunteers came to help out at gentle hands, the NGO my family here runs and where i volunteer at. they are here for 10 days. and by the time their 10:10pm flight came in, they went thru immigration, found their luggage, found us, packed their 26 pieces of luggage PLUS their carryons and themselves into the two vehicles, dropped them off, unpacked their vans, said goodnight til the next morning, got home, showered and was in bed, it was almost 1:30am.

oh, and i had an editorial shoot for WEDDING BELLE magazine monday morning…in alabang. so i was gonna be waking up at about 5am to be on the road by 6am. ya. not much sleep. :)

but the editorial was fabulous. i will definitely post photos when they are published, but here are some of the yummy colours of beautifulness i was so fortunate to shoot (this shot with my infamous iPhone):

if that is not at all crazy fun, on monday, i got a phone call from pilar, the amazing wedding photog i work with here. she also has a number of magazines - wedding belle, olive (cooking mag) junior (parenting mag), digital photographer philippines and lonely planet philippines.

she was supposed to go and do the next cover story for lonely planet philippines. however, she got a really big international campaign ad gig - which she does lots of campaigns and rocks at them - that she just couldn’t turn down. i dont even know yet what it is, it’s THAT big. :)

the phone call was to ask if i could go do the cover story for her…on oct 28…for a week…in TURKEY.

it didn’t take long to check my calendar, talk to lover and get back to her, i tell ya. :)

so ya.. i leave in a week and it only is just setting in..i am going with the writer from the magazine, madie, and i’m certain it will be a fabulous time - she sounds so much fun! she sent over the itinerary - and of course i went online to google all the places we will be visiting and documenting about…here’s some google images of the places we will see in 8 days:

ya it’s gonna be pretty fantastic. :)

so this next week i’ll be making sure all my blogging is scheduled while i am gone..getting loose ends of client work out, making sure the kids schedules are clear for daddy-o while i’m away, and everything else under the sun..you know, like reading up on the places in turkey and thinking about what to pack, meeting with pilar and madie before we leave…oh my…i need another coffee. :)

so that is life right now..between life at Gentle Hands and keeping my fingers in the photography world and wedding loveliness, i couldn’t ask for more. i love my jobs. :)
