TLH: what is the favorite part of what you do (business wise)?
Jeanette:
My favourite part of what I do is it all starts and ends with me. I love that I meet with my couples, come up with concepts and designs and I’m also there the day of to make sure it’s everything (and hopefully more) than they were envisioning. Sometimes it can be a little stressful during the summer months but I wouldn’t trade what I get to do for a living for anything!

TLH: how did you get started? everyone asks, i know, but peeps wanna know!
Jeanette:
My background is in interior design and visual merchandising. I worked for IKEA for almost 12 years and I loved it! I started by doing weddings and events for friends and family and I realized how much I loved it. I did a wedding show 7 years ago and it really took off from there.

TLH: if you could live anywhere in the world for a year, money not an issue, where would it be and why?
Jeanette:
Hmmm, great question! I think I would go back to Asia. I don’t think I could pick just one landing spot though, I would definitely spend a lot of time in China as I completely love it there and the fact that I can walk up a street and be inspired by a million little details. I’d also definitly spend more time in Tibet, it’s my absolute favourite place I have ever been and would love to explore it more because i found it so awe inspiring.

(Jeanette - oooooooooo! i’ll keep you posted when i do my FOLLOW YOUR HEART tours in china and tibet in the next year or so!!)

TLH: favorite story/memory of past client/work/project
Jeanette:
My favourite memory is when the bride took the time out DURING her wedding to leave her party and tell me how happy she was with her decor, it doesn’t get any better than that!

TLH: what is your favorite foods to eat? to make? to buy?
Jeanette:
Mexican! Oh wait and Indian! It’s a toss up! I hate to say it but in wedding season I rarely, rarely cook, I’m home so little that I usually end up grabbing food on my way to or from somewhere. If I’m in Vancouver it’s always Sweet Cheribium! I love that place! Salad and samosas with a cookie for the drive home!

TLH: where do you see yourself in your biz and life in 5 years?
Jeanette:
Another good question! I’m hoping that personally in 5 years I will have started a family, being a mama is something I cannot wait to become! Professionally I’m hoping to grow my company into different aspects that can help every couple have the wedding they dreamt of….it’s still in the works, I’ll keep ya posted! :)

TLH: how do you want to be remembered?
Jeanette:
I want to be remembered professionally and personally as someone who wasn’t afraid to take risks and try something out of the box, even though it may fall out of the realm of normalcy. And for someone that cares about people, I like to make sure everyone around me is having a great time and is well taken care of!
