#FF - Benz Co-Rana || manila destination wedding photographer

the first communication i had with benz was over a year ago when a fellow vancouver photographer friend, gracci (who will be featured on this #FF soon!)who gave me some contacts of wedding industry peeps here in manila, as we were planning our move the next year and they had moved FROM manila to vancouver.
benz and her husband, abet (who i will feature on my blog seperately another time) have this website just for weddings - WEDDINGS@WORK.COM. it is website full of juicy information regarding anything wedding!
after we chatted back and forth…then she stalked my blogs…i stalked her blogs…we became friends on FB…i knew she was someone i will know for a long time. :) they asked if i would be interested in doing a podcast for their W@W podcast (which i will post about when that is out!)  i couldn’t NOT feature benz on my #FF blogpost; here is a woman with so much drive and they have beautiful kids and she even has her own blog all about being a mom and all the topics under the sun that all us moms talk about. (check it out here: http://mimmabenz.com/)
thank you, benz for taking the time out of your busy life to be featured on my FOLLOW A FABULOUS PERSON FEATURE. :)
may i present the lovely BENZ CO-RANA! :)

TLH: what is the favorite part of what you do (business wise)?
Benz: I love talking to people, knowing their stories and experience both in their personal life and their wedding career for the suppliers and knowing the love stories of the couples.

TLH: how did you get started? everyone asks, i know, but peeps wanna know!
Benz: Back in 1997 when we were planning our wedding there is zero info on Philippine weddings, we had no input from the web for our wedding, all info we got were US based and so right after our wedding we made a wedding portal, we placed there all info we wish we had access to. Lucky for us, our wedding got a whiff of media exposure because of our wedding giveaway which is a cd compilation of all original songs. So the media exposure to our personal wedding website (it was all about our wedding, our entourage, our love story, our wedding details al the cheezieness) translated to our new website www.weddingsatwork.com which is a website to help soon-to-wed couples.
TLH: if you could live anywhere in the world for a year, money not an issue, where would it be and why?
Benz: Hmm out of all the places I have been to it is still the Philippines for me. If I have all the money in the world then I could easily visit the places I like as often as I wish. I love that there are a lot of nice places here that’s inexpensive and just as many expensive and exclusive places too.

TLH: favorite story/memory of past client/work/project
Benz: There are so many pet projects that I like. But my favorite would probably be the W@W Videofest. W@W VideoFest is an event where we had 5 great videographers make videos on different aspects of W@W. I love it because without any guides on whom to interview and any notes on what course we want the direction to be they all were able to come up with a pretty accurate picture of W@W and all its aspect. For me that meant we are doing it right and it is not just us saying it but even others knows it is so.

TLH: what is your favorite foods to eat? to make? to buy?
Benz: I always feel good when I get to buy Happy Lemon’s Cocoa with RockSalt&Cheese.
I love buying fresh veggies from the weekend market and fish from the wet market.
I like it when we have fresh shrimps for lunch/dinner, it means I bought it just hours before the meal as they are bought alive then washed and placed in boiling water while jumping. It brings me back to my childhood as it is how my mom prepares it for us too.

TLH: where do you see yourself in your biz and life in 5 years?
Benz: Still doing what we are doing but reaching to a wider range, hopefully. I also see ourselves being more active in the mommy world too.

TLH: how do you want to be remembered?
Benz: I want to be remembered as the one who cared. I want to have touched people’s life, to have made a mark and to be the one they’d tell their kids nice stories about.
