Welcome. Merhaba. Benvenuto.

I love the ocean. I love the mountains. I love coffee. I love chocolate. I love Ayran. I love vegetables. I love Greek food. I love Nutella…and peanut butter. I love scarves, skinny jeans and boots. I love shorts, flipflops and sarongs. I am a bohemian I would like to think…eclectic in so many different ways.

I love to travel. I love Italy, Turkey, Morocco, India, Canada, of course, and so many more places I have visited and have yet to visit.

I am passionate. I am sensitive. I am deep. I am thoughful. I am intuitive. I am confident. I am pensive. I am funny. I am beautiful. I am strong. I am determined.

I love airports. I love coffee shops. I love mountain villages. I love the beach. I love Fiats 500s and Vespas. I love postcards. I love silver jewelry. I love short hair. I love my iPhone 6.

I am a fighter. I am compassionate. I am an advocate. I am all of these and more.

Simply put, I love life. And with this same love, I choose to photograph people, places and situations around me.

Love. Travel. Life. This is me. In a nutshell.

Have a look around my site. I have some travel galleries and blog posts in the links at the top.

I hope you enjoy what you see and are inspired to see more of our beautiful world. xx

Wandering through Stroncone, Italy || Italy Travel Photographer

There are little villages in the hills of medieval Umbria, that literally make you feel like you have time traveled.

Stroncone is one.

And walking through her cobblestone streets felt like I was in an Italian movie scene.

I was…my own: I left a piece of my heart in Italy.

Italy is amazing. And will always be making sequels of that movie til the day I die. :)

Making travel photos with a smart phone?! || Turkey Travel Photographer

As I continue to travel, and as I continue to get older, I think I may be getting a wee wiser. :)

I love traveling light. What do I mean by light? By using a single backpack.

No having to wait for your luggage.

No pushing a luggage cart around.

Being able to be super mobile with your simple backpack.

As a travel who wants to fully immerse myself in the culture and local life, traveling light is definitely something I aim for.

I took my gear when I was commissioned to shoot for Lonely Planet Philippines in 2011, but I also took my then iPhone 4 and grabbed a plethora of fun shots.

Here’s a few from that trip to Turkey:

I mean of course, they are not top quality shots, BUT they are great snaps that captured parts of the trip.

It’s not about the gear - its about the photographer, your eye and how your frame what you are seeing.

Remember that the next time you are cursing that you don’t have the latest camera for your holidays.

;) xotracey

Speaking of next trip - Next month - JULY - I will be hosting a Turkish Night in Forbes Park, Makati. We will have an authentic Turkish Meal, as well as a presentation of this fall’s AMAZING tour to Turkey. AND a short talk on how to make better travel photographs.

If you are in Metro Manila, you should consider coming. Details on the Turkish Night ticket cost will be available in the next week. Check my Facebook page for update. :)

Photographers - YOU NEED TO READ THIS

You know we (my family and I) live in Manila, PH. We moved back here Dec 2010…over 3 years already! CRAZY
If you are friends with me on FB or have stumbled upon anything I post, you will know we are heavily involved in reaching out to the poor and in need. You can also check out our family site to get up to speed: http://www.theheppners.org
We are involved in yet another new exciting new project - renovating, furnishing and starting a children’s home, or orphanage, in India, outside of Chennai. The need for this home is great. There are OVER 20 million orphans in India. No, we cannot help them all. But we can help some.
We are super excited about this! The renovations have just begun and our goal is to open by the end of the year (fingers crossed!). We are currently searching and meeting with India couples who can potentially be the Home Parents of the children that will be at Gentle Hands of India.
GHIBLOG2014.jpg
One of the major things in any project of this sort is funding.WHOA - DON’T READING THIS. WAIT FOR A MINUTE BEFORE YOU DO. :)
We are currently raising awareness and funds for the renovating. We are about half way there of the $55,000 we will need for renos, and then an additional $10,000ish for furnishing etc. We expect it will cost $8000 a month to run.
Huge numbers. And so I have been brainstorming, thinking, wondering how on EARTH can we, us all, even reach this.
And this is where YOU come in.
You are a photographer. An amazing one. That is why we are friends. Just kidding..hehehe..sorta. ;) We know each other in one way or another.
And you probably have THOUSANDS of files of gorgeous photos that you don’t touch. You know, like the ones that you shoot while on holidays or vacations. The ones you make and go, “wow, that’s sweet, I should blow that up, make a book, etc etc etc”
(DO YOU SEE WHERE I’M GOING WITH THIS YET? NO? K…WAIT FOR IT..)
We have a charitable foundation based in the USA - LOVE DOES FOUNDATION - on FB: https://www.facebook.com/lovedoesfoundation - that has an online store (https://love-does-foundation.myshopify.com/) where all the funds raised from the sales of their store go to projects…and GENTLE HANDS OF INDIA is one of them!
Would YOU consider donating one (or more!) high resolution photo to us? A photo that would be considered a fine art photograph (examples off the top of my head: historical places, orphanages around the world, children, landscape)
We will have a gallery of photos that people can order and LOVE DOES FOUNDATION  will get the photos printed - either printed and framed or canvas wrapped - as the orders come in.
Not only will your photo help Gentle Hands of India, time and time again as it is purchased, but you will be “giving” through it’s purchase each time. THAT is an awesome thing to be a part of! And as an added bonus, it will also be free advertising for you - your website to your photo(s) will be on the there. Cool right?! :)
We do hope you are able to help us love the kids of India through this Children’s Home.
For more information on where we are at with our India Children’s Home, please visit us at:
Email me if you are interested. Or have questions. Or anything else. Or if you want to email just because. :)
Also if you are interested in being involved in different ways in our India project - volunteering, visiting the home, etc - please let me know. :)
Together WE can make a difference.
I truly believe that with all my heart.
That’s why we do what we do and believe what we believe.
Much love,
xo Tracey

Fun & Love in Bataan || Lifestyle Love Session, Philippines Photographer

When Anton’s mom asked me if I could photograph her son’s wedding from “my point of view”, I will admit….I was nervous!

Even though we have know the Guerzon family for over 15 years, the thought of having the responsibility of making lovely photos of a special day is still a little nerve-racking. Besides, I “hung up” this hat a few years ago!

Anton and Rina are absolutely adorable! They balance each other out and have a buncha fun all the time! They are gorgeous and their love is so radiant.

So how could I NOT photograph them?? :) Off to beautiful Bataan we decided to go, to capture their engagement photos.

Enjoy xo

This is the very Bramasole, from the movie, Under the Tuscan Sun, just outside of Cortona…It was a little surreal to see. :)

There is something so beautiful about the way the sun hits fields and grass in the summertime on the prairies.

Something almost magical…

Back in time || Bataan, Philippines Travel Photographer

In Bataan is a remarkable resort/museum. Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar is a place where dozens upon dozens of old buildings and home have been made to form this town-like place, a living museum. Its like going back in history. I’m so thrilled that I will be shooting an engagment session there next week for some friends!
